In august Ilmarine committed to rebuilding of cruise area in Port of Gothenburg. The project was demanded by operating company Stena Line and all the passengers of new superferries.

Major contractor, Skanska, had entered into contract with the Port of Gothenburg to carry out sea and land work in the port. The scope of work includes construction of a new “dolphin” and extension of a quay to accommodate large cruise ships of Stena Line. The ferry used today is 175 meters long, the new one will be 240m long.

„It was a smooth operation done by Ilmarine’s professional and cooperative crew, and I hope I will be able to use your company in future”, summarized Skanska project manager Jan Karlsson. “All of the people did a professional work, and had a professional cooperative behavior.”

Ilmarine supplied steel structures in accordance with strict marine rules. Moreover quality control was carried out by independent licensed inspector. The company mounted structures during narrow time frame. Floating barge and crane were used.

The largest port of its kind in Scandinavia, the Port of Gothenburg sits on Sweden’s west coast. The port is a face of the country’s second-largest city, and Ilmarine is proud to brighten its beauty.

Estonia is becoming the 17th euro zone member, reported worldwide news agencies on 13.07.2010.

“This news is only positive for Ilmarine,” the company’s general manager Mr Karel Saar comments. According to Mr Saar a vanished speculations of currency devaluation and an eliminated uncertainty risk will bring more firmness into relations with foreign partners.

For our clients the bank’s exchange margins will become a thing of the past. We foresee easier money transfers without unnecessary risks as well. Concludes official Ilmarine.

In June 2010 the first guests in Port of Kapellskär came ashore via modern gangway and walkway system. It was designed, produced and assembled by Estonian company Ilmarine AS.

In 2009, Ilmarine won international tender to deliver new passenger facilities in one of the Ports of Stockholm group’s harbour. Two facts made the project challenging. The walkway is based on pile foundations surrounded by water. And the existing facilities were in continuous operation while newbuilding works were performed.

STATE-OF-THE-ART GANGWAY
An automatic gangway was the major part of the new facilities. This state-of-the-art machine was developed in co-operation with Tallinn University of Technology. The design stands at the cutting edge and has significant advantages. Such as:

  • A safety and stabilising system, that monitors the position of the ship´s deck and follows its movements;
  • 3 movement axes, which enable to accommodate several types of ships;
  • A control box and remote control unit that provide easy operation of the gangway;
  • The gangway is being held in the air by hydraulic cylinders without any support legs;
  • Optimised structures that give maximum rigidity with minimum weight.

Ilmarine is proud to be committed to an ongoing P&P factory modernisation project in Russia. It is not just “jet another project”. We were subcontracted to produce modules of advanced equipment. Where latest technologies and developments were applied.

During 5-years’ co-operation with Scandinavian suppliers of relevant equipment we have been delivering machines to Europe, Asia, North and South Americas. It can be stated that the industry constantly demands higher standards within terms of safety, efficiency and reliability.

The final stage of a contract with Ports of Stockholm is coming. Construction site has been prepared, floating crane has been sent overseas, new gallery frames have been dispatched. For reference please contact our sales office.
